This church of the Apostle Luke was originally constructed in 1700, reconstructed in 1851 and enlarged to its modern form in 1939. The ceremony of the establishment of the enlarged church was held on 21.7.1940 under the Metropolitan Bishop of Paphos Leontios. At that time Bishop Leontios also acted as Archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus as he was the only Bishop in Cyprus!
