Maine Northern Train 901-13 gets moving again, after going into emergency at Masardis on the evening of 1/13/2024 as the day long snow storm ramps up. At Squapan a few miles away they will meet counterpart train 900-13 from Fort Kent and Train 502-13 returning from Presque Isle.
With upgrades done during the fall, MNR began running SD70M-2's from Oakfield to Squapan on the Madawaska Sub, which I believe this might have been one of the first, if not the first time one made the trip up.
901 had also recently been reworked from a turn job running north from Squapan to Nixon where they would meet 900 out of Fort Kent, into a Squapan-Millinocket turn, however due to track speeds I never saw them make a complete round trip.

Op zaterdag 28 november 2020 rangeerde de 6406 aan het einde van de middag langs de Oude Maasweg met een keteltrein. De laagstaande herfstzon belichtte nog net een deel van de trein, met mooie, lange schaduwen als resultaat. Destijds geen slechte oogst op een overwegend bewolkte zaterdagmiddag in de haven.

6406 trips a local freight between customers over the diamond crossing at Plant City, north east of tampa, Central Florida, 11/8/23.
Smoke haze is a regular occurrence here in the northern Plains and yesterday evening (6-28-2023) was not the most colorful as a result. I got out and shot anyway and found plenty of rail traffic, like this westbound unit train a few miles west of Snowden, Montana approaching the grade crossing at Lakeside.
I've been pushing the ISO limits during normal shooting to see where I find unacceptable image noise. ISO 2000 was definitely beyond a happy trade-off, yet it certainly beats my old E-510 by leaps and bounds. The technology may be a few years old now, but I think the E-M1X will be able to hold its own for some time to come (though perhaps I won't wait so long to upgrade next time lol).

MNR finally purchased the Millinocket Sub last year from CP, after CP ended operations in the spring of 2021.
With new business opportunities instore for the Millinocket area, upgrades to the various rail lines are currently in the works.

CSX local L784 switches out Packaging Corp of America in Auburndale, FL. We watched them pull empties and spot loads as a bonus catch returning from the Plant City area. The conductor even got a chance to tell off a gate runner. A former C&O GP40-2 was doing the honors.
In 2021 was het na vele jaren weer mogelijk om in daglicht een reguliere bediening van AgruniekRijnvallei te fotograferen. In 2016 had ik de bediening in de nacht gefotografeerd, toen uitgevoerd door de Strukton 303001. 5 jaar later bood zich zodoende de kans aan om dit nog eens over te doen.
Op 15 juli bracht de LTE 6406 vanuit Amersfoort een eerste zestal wagens naar Barneveld Centrum. Op de foto werd de korte sleep in het laatste daglicht bij het bedrijf geplaatst. Deze foto heb ik volledig te danken aan David, die mij een hoogstatief uitleende. Zo kon er over de heg worden gefotografeerd. 15/07/21
