Informationen: Grete Weixler:
Wikipedia.
“Grete Weixler (* around 1900; † after 1921) was a German actress of the silent movie era.”
“Weixler was born the younger sister of the actress Dorrit Weixler: ”The beginnings of her [Dorrit's] activity were still in my childhood", Weixler said in 1919 looking back.[1] Her grandfather had been a successful actor in Hungary, Weixler's aunt lived as an artist in Vienna. Weixler's other siblings also turned to the performing arts.
Weixler made her film debut in 1915 in the feature film Seasons of Life, directed by Franz Hofer, who was married to her sister Dorrit Weixler. In contrast to Dorrit Weixler, who was the first Backfisch of German cinema to specialize in childlike young women and who took her own life in 1916 while addicted to morphine, Grete Weixler mainly made serious films, including Geopfert ... directed by Walter Schmidthässler in 1916 and Margarete in 1918. Die Geschichte einer Gefallenen directed by Friedrich Zelnik and Verschleppt by Carl Boese in 1919. Also in 1919, she took on the supporting role of Lilly in the second part of the film Der Weg, der zur Verdammnis führt, one of the most controversial and “most successful products of the post-war wave of morality films”[2] about the fate of two young women who fall into the hands of traffickers.
In addition to her work in film, Weixler was also a theater actress and appeared at the Trianon Theater in Berlin, among others. Her last film, Jaap Speyer Die Tochter der Verführten, in which Weixler was cast as a banker's daughter, was made in 1922." Wikipedia.

“Two years in a row, now, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction has been awarded the Hugo as the world’s best science fiction magazine. The award is made by the annual World Science Fiction Convention, on the basis of voting by the entire membership, and it is a signal honor in the field. Unlike the movie industry Oscar, or the mystery writers’ Edgar, the Hugo comes in a different design each year.” [From the back cover]
A French brand of swimwear, Rasurel was positioned in the mid- to high-end market, focusing on comfort, fit and quality. It is part of the Lejaby S.A.S. company that designs, manufactures, and markets lingerie and women’s swimwear. Despite challenges faced in the early 2000s from low-cost competitors, the Rasurel brand of swimwear is still available, though not as prominent as it once was.
The Chevrolet Corvette was first shown as a concept car at the General Motors Motorama in New York City's Waldorf Astoria Hotel in January 1953. The first production Corvette was built on June 30, 1953 in Flint, Michigan, and only 300 were made. The cars were built almost entirely by hand on a pilot line and were only available in Polo white with red bucket seats.
These first Chevrolet Corvettes had fiberglass bodies and were equipped with the "Blue Flame" inline-six engine. This engine, also known as the "Stovebolt Six," was a significant part of the Corvette's early identity. It had a displacement of 235 cubic inches and could produce 150 horsepower and 223 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
The 1953 Pontiac Parisienne was an experimental car designed by Harley Earl and his team at GM. It was a showpiece meant to demonstrate futuristic design and technology, rather than a production vehicle. It was based on the Pontiac Star Chief and powered by a 122-horsepower, 268 cubic-inch straight-8 engine, coupled with a two-speed “Dual-range Hydramatic Drive” automatic transmission.
The Parisienne featured a unique two-door landau body style, sometimes referred to as a DeVille coupe. It was designed to be a conspicuous town car, often driven by a chauffeur. Unlike most concept cars of the era, which were made of fiberglass, the 1953 Parisienne was constructed entirely of metal, making it heavier and providing a smoother ride.

Debuted at the 1959 General Motors Motorama, the Firebird III concept car had a wildly futuristic look with a fiberglass body, seven short wings, and tailfins. It was not intended for production but rather to showcase the extremes in technology and design that the company could achieve. It was powered by a 225 horsepower Whirlfire GT-305 gas turbine engine, along with a smaller two-cylinder, 10 horsepower gasoline engine to run the accessories.
The Firebird III influenced the design of General Motors production vehicles, such as the 1959 Cadillac, which featured some of the Firebird III’s surface development and styling elements.

David Bowie was 19 and this was the first single he released under the name “David Bowie.” He previously performed as Davy Jones. The song marked a significant step in Bowie's growth as a songwriter, showcasing themes he would explore in his later work. The song’s narrative about a boy deciding to leave town and start anew can be seen as a metaphor for Bowie’s own transformation and the beginning of his remarkable journey in music.

The small type in the ad states that Angela Greene is in the Warner Bros movie “Devotion” – an obvious error. Unless she was an uncredited cast member, Angela Greene wasn’t in “Devotion,” a biopic about the Brontë sisters. Instead she was in the Warner Bros comedy “The Time, the Place and the Girl” (1946).
[Note: I can't imagine the lady in the pink robe being cast as one of the Brontë sisters. Those roles went to Ida Lupino and Olivia de Havilland]
