For quite a few years now I've dreamed about starting a blogging series of some sort where I just show some of my favorite designers new releases each month. I finally FINALLY decided to give it a go and am starting with hair...MINA Hair to be exact. I'm not going in any particular order, just wherever the mood strikes. So to begin, I'm bringing you the new releases from MINA for both June & July.
A couple of things to note: I am not sponsored by these designers. They will be quick posts, rather than my usual full set scenes. I just really really want to share their things with you. You'll probably see familiar and new to you designers. If you have any suggestions of places for me to check out let me know! I have a soft spot for new/lesser known designers that do quality work.

Clearly someone has targeted Stormtrooper Bruce for a fun April Fool's Day prank. But who?
STB: See what I mean?
TK-1110: Dude! You weren't kidding. Who have you managed to upset now?
STB: Don't know. So many umbrellas. Something tells me the new sprinkler system is about to kick on.
TK-1110: The packages don't have labels. Who could have sent them?
STB: Do I look like Sherlock Holms? It could be anyone. And it's totally brilliant! It's just like something I'd do.
TK-1110: Brilliant? What about those "raindrops" you were just worried about?
STB: Vader's Dogs! That's probably part of the prank. I'll be up for nights freaking out about those sprinklers, wondering when they're going to turn on!?!
TK-1110: So they might not? You mean someone's messing with you by not messing with you? That really IS brilliant! Mind if I stay a while and see what happens?

OK, this is not really wassail, but it is a nice mulled cider with several kinds of berries, blood orange and lovely spices. Merry Christmas all!
We usually take time for singing carols on Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, depending on when we can all work out being together. I'll miss doing that this year. This was an instrumental interlude at one of last year's gatherings.
The Stockings Were Hung by the Chimney With Care.
Christmas Eve isn't complete with out some stockings stuffed with goodies. We don't have a chimney in our house, but if we ever have one that does, it will look like this one.
Setting up Christmas lights on your house doesn't have to be a laser light show. Sometimes going the more traditional way looks so much better. White lights and garland on a brick house? Perfect look for a mood-setting Christmas party.
Anticipation!
How can you not feel the anticipation of Christmas? It builds up for a month and a half with cold weather, snow, music, movies, family, friends, time off work...and definitely the food! This little kitty clearly can't wait to get into the presents though.
Exploring Philadelphia on a rainy/snowy winter night, we ducked inside a store to get out of the wet and rain for a moment...it was on a list of buildings we wanted to see anyway, the old Wanamaker department store. What we found was a Macy's with a massive Christmas light display that soared several stories high, apparently a tradition since the '50s. They had nightly performances accompanied by the largest functional organ in the world.
Reading of the Christmas story, always a great tradition. This is a shot from back on Christmas day of 2009. My brother Dan doing the honors, with nephews Jake and Jack listening attentively.
