Air Canada operates a varied fleet of narrow-body jets, ranging from both Airbus and Boeing aircraft; the flag-carrier has been a long-time Airbus customer having introduced their first Airbus A320 back in 1990, followed by Airbus A319s in 1997 and by Airbus A321s in 2001. Whilst much of their eldest Airbus A319s and Airbus A320s have been withdrawn and replaced by Airbus A220-300s and Boeing 737 MAX 8s, their youngest fleet of Airbus A320s and Airbus A321s survive.
Despite the introduction of new Airbus A220-300s and Boeing 737 MAX 8s, Air Canada have been acquiring young second-hand Airbus A320s and Airbus A321s from a variety of other carriers for the past decade, and with it recently announced that Air Canada will be transferring all of their Boeing 737 MAX 8s over to their leisure subsidiary, Air Canada Rouge in the coming years, expect the Airbus A320 family to form the back-bone of their main narrow-body fleet.
Regarding Air Canada's Airbus A320 fleet, there are 3 examples that are now approaching 35 years old which began their lives with Canadian Airlines, this is followed by examples delivered new to the flag-carrier during 2002 and 2003, then 2 second-hand examples arrived in 2015 from Thomas Cook Belgium (these aircraft not included with Thomas Cook Belgium's purchase by Brussels Airlines). Bringing things right up to date, 6 second-hand Airbus A320s have arrived during 2023 and 2024, 4 from Alaska Airlines and 2 from China Southern.
For now, Air Canada will continue to be a major focus for Airbus A320 family aircraft for a while yet...
Currently, Air Canada operates 39 Airbus A320 family aircraft, which includes 2 Airbus A319s, 17 Airbus A320s and 20 Airbus A321s. Air Canada have 30 Airbus A321XLRs on-order.
Foxtrot Charlie Zulu Foxtrot is one of 17 Airbus A320s operated by Air Canada, delivered new to Virgin America as N637VA on lease from Vx Capital Partners on 15th April 2008 receiving the name An Airplane Named Desire, transferring over to Alaska Airlines on 11th January 2018 after Virgin America were acquired by Alaska Airlines by mid-2018, withdrawn by Alaska Airlines on 8th January 2023, later to be leased by Air Canada as C-FCZF on 26th January 2024. She is powered by 2 CFM International CFM56-5B4/3 engines.

Looking a little closer to home, British Airways short-haul fleet is in the process of undergoing some changes in the middle of the S25 schedule.
At present, British Airways continues to take delivery of brand new Airbus A320neos and Airbus A321neos over at London Heathrow; the eldest Airbus A319s are continuing to be whittled down along with the former-BMI Airbus A320s. Over at London Gatwick is where British Airways-subsidiary, BA Euroflyer is located, taking over from British Airways short-haul operations at London Gatwick following COVID-19; BA Euroflyer has their own fleet of Airbus A320s and Airbus A321s.
BA Euroflyer does feature quite an oddball fleet; between 2014 to 2016, British Airways introduced 10 second-hand Airbus A320s to replace the Boeing 737-400s, operating alongside the former-BMI Airbus A319s which are now back at London Heathrow, not forgetting a solitary former-BMI Airbus A320 which is non-standard owing to lack of containerisation in the cargo compartment. Since COVID-19, British Airways has transferred 11 Airbus A321s over to London Gatwick's BA Euroflyer fleet, operating alongside the Airbus A320s.
The second-hand Airbus A320s that BA Euroflyer acquired have not been the most reliable, and are amongst the oldest Airbus A320s currently in British Airways fleet, and these are being targeted for replacement... One example has already been withdrawn from service with 2 more examples expected to leave by the end of 2025.
With British Airways continuing to receive new Airbus A320neos and Airbus A321neos, this has lead to their existing and legacy Airbus A320s to make the transfer over to BA Euroflyer; in fact 3 have already made the move which are G-EUUV/X/Y with a further 2 examples expected to make the transfer being G-EUUW/EUUZ.
It seems a visit to London Gatwick is long overdue...
Currently, BA Euroflyer operates 25 Airbus A320 family aircraft, which includes 14 Airbus A320s and 11 Airbus A321s. BA Euroflyer are due to receive a further 2 Airbus A320s from British Airways.
Echo Uniform Uniform X-Ray is one of 25 Airbus A320 family aircraft operated by BA Euroflyer, delivered new to British Airways on 11th July 2008, transferring over to BA Euroflyer on 1st June 2025 and she is powered by 2 International Aero Engines IAE V2527-A5 engines.
