VanDyke Brown print from digital negative, using the classic VDB formula on Bergger COT 320 paper. The image is 8x10 (approx A4) size. I used a hand adjusted curve based on Peter Mrhrar and his free Easy Digital Negative (EDN) process. The digital negative was made on generic inkjet transparency medium with a Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. The image was exposed in a home made enclosure containing ten UV tubes.
This print was made using techniques patented in 1895. I enjoy the challenges of using the same chemistry and techniques patented over 125 years ago. This labor-intensive practice transforms a casual, ephemeral, disposable digital image into a unique, hand-crafted photographic print.
A Blessed and Merry Christmas to all!
Been learning about the alternative photographic process called cyanotype printing while I was away. Hope all is well with you and your families. Visit me in IG sometime. www.instagram.com/juliasumangil/?hl=en
