My wife booked a room at the Bastion Hotel near Schipol. We knew it was close to the airport but we didn't know it sat right next to an active runway. We had a room facing the runway and had a good view of aircraft landing. For photography I had to shoot through dirty, thick windows, but it was acceptable. The plane watching was very good - I caught some new airlines I had never heard of. I would recommend staying at this hotel but unfortunately our passports were stolen from our room during our stay. What a way to ruin a vacation!
