Shawn and I went for our favorite loop hike in Upper Bidwell Park for the first time since the Santos Wildfire in August. This is the same tree on the Annie Bidwell Trail that appears on our two faced "Happy New Year 2017" holiday card. You can see some of the remaining fire retardant in the trees camera left.
So much has changed in our personal lives and the world since the last time we passed this tree 51 weeks ago.

Went to our favorite area of upper Upper Bidwell Park to check out part of the damage from the Santos Fire. This is on Guardians Trail between Humboldt Trail and 10 Mile House road.

Shawn and I went up to Humboldt Trail to check out the fire damage. The good news, the makeshift bench at Bear Hill is untouched by the fire. However 100 feet down Humboldt Trail is the Dozer Line and this fire hose cutting across the trail.
We plan to go back to our favorite area of the park after Labor Day Weekend to see the fire damage east on Guardians Trail.

About 6" tall with the petals swept-back away from the exposed pistil.
Took Trillian for a hike in upper, Upper Bidwell Park down to the seasonal waterfall at Bloody Pin and Annie Bidwell trails. The first of this season's wildflowers has started blooming.

1st roll of film in 7 years! I was gifted 45 rolls of expired 2005 Fuji Sensia 100 that had been stored in a freezer. I decided to cross process a roll (E-6 in C-41). Costco did the C-41 processing and scanning.
