and then there is this part of the lake story that unbelievably continues to get ignored ... this was the harvest over a 2 mile stretch along Sleeping Bear Bay(without looking very hard and just picking up balloon strings + a couple of balloons and a piece of rope tangled in a batch)
yes, helium balloons are really pretty when they are released into the sky looking like the icon for freedom ... but, then they come down!
on the other hand, I cannot believe that in all of these 45 shoreline treks so far, we have found _no_ luminary residuals ... where do the wire and plastic parts go?
I guess they are 'only' a fire hazard and not the beach trash I assumed they would become :\
