Vueling Airbus A320-NEO EC-NIY is seen partway through an engine change outside on the ramp at Barcelona Airport on the morning of Saturday 16th September 2023. I've never seen an engine swap being done in this manner before, usually the whole engine is removed from the pylon that connects it to the wing, it appears however that with newer designs it is possible to open up the entire cowling and remove & replace the turbine, no doubt saving on both time and manpower. This aircraft is fitted with, well as seen in the image, one Pratt & Whitney PW1127G with a second one either waiting to be attached or having just been removed.
This was a very quick shot taken from the rear door viewing window of my own A320NEO as we taxied past, came out well I think :)
