In January 2024, the River Thames overflowed its banks at Cookham In Berkshire and flooded the low lying area of Cookham Moor. This is a fairly common occurence and when it happens, pedestrians are still able to go across the flooded area on a raised footpath, although vehicular traffic is stopped.
