Though for the lack of provisions I could have stayed in that forest the entire day and probably all night, and maybe the next day as well, before capitulating to societal expectation to rejoin, what those funny lifeforms call, the human race. It felt so nice to even fantasise about being in the wild woods, away from people, cut off and knowing I could be in there for hours, before meeting another person. I’d probably hide behind a tree or in the undergrowth until they pass, and yes, I have done that before.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! 😊

It is characterised by buildings mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, including many urban looking houses that had farm building in their backyards as the owners formerly used to have fields and pastures outside the town, earning their living with agricultural activities. All these buildings have been extensively renovated since 1991.
Altlandsberg: At some point in the course of history, a landowner apparently broke a private passage through the city wall

Here we used the opportunity of shortening our hike around the town wall

The town wall is on the right behind the trees and bushes. To the left of the path, the terrain is marshy, which probably offered increased protection in the Middle Ages.
