I love my morning walks, especially when I’m out early enough to hear the world waking up around me. As I rounded the bend in the trail, I noticed a small patch of brown-eyed Susans peeking out from amidst the green vegetation. I might not have seen this pretty sight if it weren’t for the scurrying of little critters under the leaves.
"Rudbeckia triloba, the browneyed or brown-eyed susan, thin-leaved coneflower or three-leaved coneflower, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae with numerous, yellow, daisy-like flowers.
It is native to the central and eastern United States and is often seen in old fields or along roads." - Wikipedia
