Dog doing flips for owner Ocean Beach San Francisco 20110321-145146V

Sometimes photo opportunities come in pairs as did this photo I made of a dog doing flips for its owner at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. The second image capture of this young woman and her pet is in the slide following this one. Many people and their dogs visit ocean beach every day, rain or shine. This couple looks like they have done this many times before. Shot using a Canon EOS 60D in March 2011.

I found this photo in my archives when I was searching for a dog photo to print for a friend. I not only found the photo of her dog that I took over 10 years ago, but found this image cropped to 4X6. I had captured this image in RAW on my Canon EOS 60D back in 2011. The 60D could produce both raw and jpeg files for the same image. Since I have not experimented with raw in a long time, I did not try to bring out the original image that was much silhouetted but cropped the 4X6 to 5X7 – an easier procedure than reediting the original.

I made this photo of Niña cat during a visit to a long time good friend at her Sacramento California home. I have taken lots of pictures of cats over the years. I made this photo of a daytime moon over a hill while traveling through the Nevada Desert in September 2011 as I was returning to my home town of San Francisco after visiting friend in Idaho. I shot this using a Canon EOS 60D that I was using during my trip.

Graciela holding Delmy - copy of 70 year old photo 20120305-135441

I shot this photo of a tiny old print of Graciela holding Delmy taken nearly 70 years ago. Delmy is my ex-wife and probably asked me to take this photo in back in March 2012. The subject of the photo came up today because February 17, 2021 is the 33rd anniversary of the passing of Graciela. I shot this copy of a vintage photo using a Canon EOS 60D.

I made this photo of Paphiopedilum Verde, or Lady Slipper, orchids during a visit to the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco November 2012. These interesting flowers were located in the Lowland Tropics Gallery across from the main entrance of the five gallery Victorian Greenhouse. I shot this using a Canon EOS 60D DSLR.

Succulent top of yellow flowers Arizona Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park 20130425-124624D

This view of yellow flowers atop a group of green and red succulents is one of many edits of a photo I made at the Arizona Garden in April 2013. This desert garden is across from the Dahlia Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The yellow flowers were several inches higher than the succulents in the background but perspective can deceive. The articulating live view monitor of a Canon EOS 60D certainly was a help in capturing this image.

August 5 was my mother Louise's birthday. As I was looking through my archives for an appropriate photo to post on Flickr and my Photo of the Day email to friends and family, I found this image of a wallet sized photo that my father, Frank, carried with him during World War II. The front of the photo is mom holding me when I was 6 weeks old – previous slide. The back of the photo shown here was inscribed: 1944
To our Dear Daddy Charles Michael age 6 weeks. All our love, always your Loving wife Louise.
My father returned home with this memento still in its small folding leather case that was given to me this millennium. I shot this copy of the wallet sized photo using a Canon EOS 60D.

I made this photo of a Sun Star flower, also known as Ornithogalum dubium during a visit to the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park in April of 2011. I shot this using a Canon EOS 60D and made an 18X24 inch wrap around canvas of this horizontal image. You can see a vertically cropped version in the following slide. As an aside, the Sun Star is poisonous.

I made this photo of the inside of a bromeliad in April 2011 during a visit to The Conservatory Of Flowers in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park – probably in the Aquatic Plants room. I was able to look down into the heart of the plant because of the articulating live view monitor on the Canon EOS 60D I was using. This is the cropped, macro version of the original image in the previous slide.

Though I am only posting two images today, this is one of seven I took of a peach colored vintage Rambler American – produced between 1958 and 1969 – as it was parked on Sloat Boulevard across from San Francisco's Zoo. I shot this using a Canon EOS 60D in April of 2011. You can see a front view in the previous slide.

Streets of San Francisco Bicycle rental and sales Hayes Valley district San Francisco 20140217-114328 cw60D C4

I made this photo of a bicycle rental business that was run out of shipping containers. You can see the bicycle representative standing to the left in the photo. More to the left is a ladder to climb to other stacked containers in the area. Though probably unreadable, the sign on the foremost bike has a sale sign on it. I captured this image in 2014 as I was walking the Hayes Valley area and rediscovered the image when transferring files from my old computer to my new Window 10 desktop. I shot this using a Canon EOS 60D.

This is the vertically cropped version of a wall mural I took while strolling a busy pedestrian friendly area of Hayes Valley District of San Francisco in February 2014. I finally viewed and edited images like this when I transferred thousands of files from my Win 7 computer to my new Windows 10 computer in early 2020. It was almost like moving from one house to another. One not only gets the opportunity to cull but also to organize. I shot this using a Canon 60D DSLR that I had at the time.

I made this photo of a father carrying his daughter in a pedestrian only area in Hayes Valley District of San Francisco. I captured this image in 2014 using my Canon EOS 60D but only reviewed the digital file during the transfer of my thousands of images from my Windows 7 computer to my new Windows 10 desktop in early 2020. I like photographing people, children, parents with their children. This image had it all.

My mother was a knitter and I am sure she knitted the outfit I was wearing. :o)
