We had to go to my late in-laws home again today to check on things for Mike's step brother. I grabbed my camera when we left to get some photos.

The red trillium. I saw trilliums out the other day when were were driving home so I went to where I would find red ones from my past trillium spotting tours. This was the only red one that I saw. The rest were the white ones.
Fun fact - there are five native trillium species here on Ontario. They are: White Trillium, Red Trillium, Painted Trillium, Drooping Trillium, and Nodding Trillium. The Drooping Trillium is a species at risk.

This bird house has never had a bird in all the years we have owned our house here.
Rather, the house is one that the squirrels love to hide out from one another in.

The one in the bird house is that funny little one that is not too nervous around me unlike the others. The other squirrels tend to bully this poor wee thing. Red squirrels are like that.

I remember as a child picking dandelions to give to my mum. My kids picked them for me. These "flowers" were always picked by small hands for a mother or mother figure. They will likely continue to do so.
Happy Mothers Day to all the mums, step mums, adoptive mums, caregivers who take on the role of a mum. Here's hoping that at one point in your life little hands picked these (wild)flowers for you and seeing these will bring back that memory.

The start of the nice weather in spring and summer brings "Garage Sale Season". My neighbour across the road is having a garage or yard sale today.
My dad loved to go to garage sales when he was alive. Today, my kids still love to hit a garage sale because it likely brings back memories of looking for great finds with GP (as they called my dad). Me, I can take or leave them.
Garage Sales - One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Mike and I bought my late mother-in-law this Rhododendron for her birthday a number of years ago. I noticed it was blooming in the corner where she had planted it with Mike.
