Charles Jeffreys Place is named after 2nd Lieutenant Charles Wilfred Jeffreys 5th (Service) Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry (formerly of B Squadron, 6th Dragoon Guards) who was killed in action in The Great War on 17th October 1918 age 25.
50 plus other roads in the Beaulieu area are also named after fallen Chelmsford Great War or First World War servicemen.
Each of the 50 plus street signs details the history and the death of the serviceman.
Other Great War related roads names in the Beaulieu area include Essex Regiment Way, Regiment Gate, Commonwealth Link, Remembrance Avenue and Armistice Avenue.
