A disgusting sight seen directly outside the entrance/exit door at the accident and emergency department at Broomfield hospital near the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

That's not even a smokers dog end bin. It's actually a recycling bin.. plastic bottles, metal cans etc.

As the sign states, patients and visitors are not permitted to smoke anywhere on the Broomfield hospital site.

Frederick Hawkes Gardens

Frederick Hawkes Gardens street sign on the Countryside Properties 'Beaulieu' residential development near the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

Frederick Hawkes Gardens is named after Stoker 1st Class Frederick William Hawkes HMS Princess Royal, Royal Navy who was killed in action in The Great War on 22nd October 1918 age 29.

50 plus other roads in the Beaulieu area are also named after fallen Chelmsford Great War or First World War servicemen.

Each of the 50 plus street signs details the history and the death of the serviceman.

Other Great War related roads names in the Beaulieu area include Essex Regiment Way, Regiment Gate, Commonwealth Link, Remembrance Avenue and Armistice Avenue.

The Countryside Properties Beaulieu development is the generic name of the area and incorporates the more specific Beaulieu Heath, Beaulieu Park, Beaulieu Chase, Beaulieu Keep, Beaulieu Grange, Beaulieu Rydes, Beaulieu Gate, Beaulieu Fields and Beaulieu Oaks.

Electric Vehicle Charging Point

A wonky and bashed about electric vehicle on street charging point thingy seen on Victoria Road in the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

There are several of these on street electric vehicle chargers dotted around Chelmsford city centre.

To use this charging point you'll need the EV.Dot app on your cellphone and a charging lead..

The charging apparatus are manufactured by Alfen alfen.com/en/ev-charging/business/eve-double-pro-line

Note the far more interesting Victorian iron railings on the Great Eastern Main Line railway embankment in the background. These railings date back to 1842 when the railway and embankment was constructed.

Charles Jeffreys Place is named after 2nd Lieutenant Charles Wilfred Jeffreys 5th (Service) Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry (formerly of B Squadron, 6th Dragoon Guards) who was killed in action in The Great War on 17th October 1918 age 25.

The Railway Tavern is right next door to Chelmsford Railway Station.

A 40 foot Maersk shipping container in a well wagon on a late night intermodal freight train at Chelmsford Railway Station in the County of Essex (UK).

This stationary train is working the daily 4V36 22:45 (00:42 6E) Felixstowe FLT- Wentloog (South Wales) Freightliner intermodal service and the sharp end is waiting at the up platform signal for a 6 minute engineering timing allowance.

Joanna Constantinidis blue plaque commemorative sign seen on The Law Building at Burgess Springs as part of the City Park West newish development in the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

The plaque reads:

Magnolia Tree

The historic magnolia tree in full spring time bloom on Victoria Road South in the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

This particular city centre magnolia tree is well known locally, has been here since at least the 1940's and is protected by a tree preservation order (TPO).

The building on the right is part of the Essex County Council County Hall complex.
