A cute little lycopod (aka clubmoss), growing in a soggy, grassy spot. In southeast Georgia, I often encounter lycopods growing in shallow ditches and depressions. This one is apparently Foxtail Bog-clubmoss (Lycopodiella alopecuroides). It is more upright and less coarse than the other species (L. appressa) I typically encounter in similar habitats. North Glynn Recreation Complex, Glynn County, Georgia.
Spinulum annotinum (interrupted clubmoss, riidenlieko in Finnish), Upper Peninsula, Michigan - November 6 2024
