A recent walk amongst the mountains in North Wales. The footpath leading to Cwm Idwal offers beautiful scenery and many classic views. Whilst this photograph has been taken many times, it is always slightly different and enjoyable to take.
Crib-y-Ddysgl
Most people cross Crib Goch from north to south and this will take you past this trig-point on the Snowdon Horseshoe route. However, the first time I went to it was from a small detour off the Ranger path. It can offer a great view south of Crib Goch as well as the rest of the Yr Wyddfa massif.

Snowdon Ranger on the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway.
In my opinion if you want to hike up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa this is the easiest place to start.

Mountain Craft // www.mountaincraft.co.uk - Guided mountain adventures in Snowdonia - Eryri - North Wales.
Rock climbing on Pinnacle Route (VD) in Cwm Cneifion. The route is rarely climbed in modern times but is a great mountaineering route culminating here in gaining the top of the pinnacle which abuts the Gribin Ridge on Glyder Fawr. Pen yr Ole Wen in the Carneddau can be seen behind.

Rock climbing on Pinnacle Route (VD) in Cwm Cneifion. The route is rarely climbed in modern times but is a great mountaineering route culminating in gaining the top of the pinnacle which abuts the Gribin Ridge on Glyder Fawr. The broken ridge across the gully is Ghost Arete (grade 3 scramble).
