*While NOT a lifer, this is the first time I had ever gotten a "post-worthy" image of this species. They are usually so buried in the twigs that getting a clean shot up until now, had been impossible for me. Patience pays!

LIFER! Red Fox Sparrow | Santa Cruz County, AZ

*This sparrow is also known as the Taiga Fox Sparrow and is one of the larger sparrow species. They are usually found in the Eastern part of the US, so to have it here in AZ was a real treat! At some point, this bird was caught and used as part of a study (note the band on it's leg).
