XL497/041/R, Fairey Gannet AEW-3 (CN F9456) in the markings of 849 Naval Air Squadron, Fleet Air Arm, photographed at HMS Gannet / Glasgow Prestwick Airport on 5 June 1982, following the HMS Gannet Open Day. Delivered in January 1961, the machine finished service with 849 Squadron Lossiemouth in 1978. Flown to Prestwick, XL497 was HMS Gannet's gate guard until 2005 when it was acquired by the Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum, where she remains in 2023 on outdoor display.
