Southwest Airlines 737 (N426WN) at ELP (January 2018) by G. O'Graffer

Southwest Airlines 737 (N426WN) at ELP (January 2018)

Here’s one of the many Southwest Airlines’ 737s in the middle of a typically busy day.

This jet was parked at a gate at El Paso International Airport during the middle of the afternoon on 02 January 2018. According to the amazing FlightAware.com’s record for the plane, it started the day at Kansas City (MCI) and had been to several airports before arriving to ELP. Within an hour of taking this image, it was on its way to Sky Harbor (PHX). It eventually ended the day at SFO.

Like Southwest’s other planes in its fleet, it usually flies about six to seven segments every 24-hour period. As I am writing this, it’s on its way from Nashville and just about to land in Minneapolis-St Paul. After that, it’s off to Denver, Albuquerque, Kansas City, and about everywhere else SWA flies. If it ain’t flying, it ain’t making money!

This particular Boeing 737-7H4 (part of the “Next Generation” series) was built in 2002 and has ~140 seats.

I hope this and all planes have safe travels for the days and years to come!

Halo Over the Franklins - El Paso (January 2018)

I captured this image while waiting for my flight out of the eastern terminal at ELP in early January 2018. I have not altered it other than some cropping, size reduction, and minor adjustments to the contrast and sharpness.

So, here’s your question:

The wonderful white halo over the Franklin Mountains …
(a) means that El Paso is #Blessed!
(b) is part of a crazy military experiment at Fort Bliss!
(c) is a space-time portal into another dimension of the universe!
(d) is a fun new way smog expresses itself in El Paso!
(e) None of the above!
