The odd colors are a combination of the tungsten film and also a result of the 120 roll not being tightly wound enough. Handmade masks, not being perfectly straight, lend an artistic effect that can sometimes work well with an image.
When people construct bridges, it is the result of a success. When nature makes them, it is the result of a failure. Roots in wet ground that couldn't hold on in a wind. It's interesting to think about how our own personal failures resulted in a bridge to access something that we otherwise would not have.
There was a beautiful woodpecker working at the base of this tree, but it was too small to be picked up well in the picture.
You can tell that this fallen tree is still alive from the thin vertical branches that emerge from the trunk.
This plant has the first leaves to emerge in spring in this woodland. They are thin, tender and glossy when new. Having a few weeks to soak up sun on the forest floor before the tree leaves shade them out must be a greatly needed boost.
The Kodak Vision 500T film that I foolishly used in daytime with no filter has been difficult to get pictures out of. The blue goes wild in the shadows, the channel must basically be dropped and then it needs a careful conversion to black and white.
I made a 6x4.5 digitizing mask out of black foamboard to fit over my light source today. While you can sometimes get away with not masking your light well when digitizing slide film or contrasty black and white, with C-41 and its orange base it really causes problems. I'll make a mask for 35mm soon as well.
