The ETR700 fleet is a bit of an unintended fleet, having originally been built for the joint NS/SNCB Fyra service between Amsterdam and Brussels utilising HSL-Zuid. They were famously only in traffic in the Low Countries for 39 days before being withdrawn due to the numerous issues with the Ansaldo-Breda sets. Having been built in 2009, entering brief service in December 2012, they were sold to Trenitalia and rebranded from V250 to ETR700. 17 sets are in traffic, with a further 2 sets that were built used for spares
