Fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus), a medium-sized wild cat of South and Southeast Asia. It lives mostly in the vicinity of wetlands, along rivers, streams, oxbow lakes, in swamps and mangroves where it preys mostly on fish.
8 year old male, Miso-Chi, lives at the San Diego Zoo and has an artificial mangrove in which to "catch" his dinner.
Conservation status: Vulnerable
I couldn't believe my luck when this gorgeous boy was caught in an unexpected stream of beautiful light as he peeked out of the darkness of his bedroom. So happy he's getting comfortable in his new home here and grateful we'll be able to get to know him.
