Much of nature seems very random but at times there are geometric and rhythmic features. In the forest there seems to be so much randomness with trees particularly when there are dead and dying trees, rotting trunks and branches all around. The geometry of this fern stands in stark contrast to the random forest. This fern was a mass of new growth. It was more bright green (new growth) than dark green (old growth). It was startling how bright it was. Much of the surrounding fir forest is quite drab.
