On the evening of April 27, 2025 I went for a walk around Centennial Pond and had a "RED DAY". Red-winged Blackbirds, Red-Necked Grebes, Redhead Ducks, and American Coots with their "red" eyes. The Coots were the most active and fun to shoot, but the others strayed into a few patches of nice light so I had a great outing.

A rarity for sure! 2 years ago I saw another one of these "pied coots" 50 miles (about 80.5 km) south of where I found this one.
After comparing photos I am confident they are not the same bird.
