On a freezing February afternoon, a hardy few witnessed the departure from Solent Airport on a short local flight of Irish Coast Guard (Garda Cósta na hÉireann) Leonardo AW189 EI-IRS.
This is the latest machine for our Irish neighbours to cycle through the Bristows/HM Coastguard facility at Solent Airport prior to the completion of delivery.

This comes out as no more than a documentary shot as I rarely let hi-vis into my pictures. Bristow Leonardo AW189 EI-HKT (formerly G-OENC), operated for the Irish Coast Guard (Garda Cósta na hÉireann) had, reportedly, intended to leave Solent Airport on Friday 12 January 2024. It was also meant to leave for Dublin (Weston) at 0925 on this day but found itself back in the hangar after a lot of being looked at whilst the APU was running.
I was disappointed to find upon my return from a trip to Southampton that it had left after all, about two hours later than planned.
