Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore
Having just spent a couple of days this week in Singapore, I have nothing but praise for the city. It is colourful, interesting, exciting, clean and while busy, does retain an air of order while the heat and humidity reign supreme throughout most of the day.
One of the attractions that I really wanted to photograph was these huge supertrees located within the Gardens of the Bay and behind the world famous Marina Bay Sands hotel.
I ventured down around 11pm, all alone among the trees and I was awestruck by the sheer scale of these metal structured foliage covered trees. All lit up in bright red complete with a walkway that allows you access via a pathway 22 metres up high through the trees.
These iconic giants provide shade in the day and come alive with an exhilarating light and sound show twice nightly at 7.45pm and 8.45pm.
