Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Sidewalk on Kent Street.
Unexpectedly during the week, staff at Sidewalk found a Dorothy street art, and ruby red slipper on the line outside.
It was not by Banksy, artist currently unknown, but Wizard of Oz might be playing at the Birmingham Hippodrome, or it could be the work of Joe Lycett.
Gusty windy weather during Storm Kathleen.
Confirmed 12/04/2024 to be by Black Country artist Dion Kitson, for Joe Lycett of Channel 4 TV's Late Night Lycett.

The former Eden pub on Sherlock Street.
It was closed by 2021 due to the construction next door of Makers Yard by Watkins Jones Group, who have now taken over the building.
Not sure what will happen with it once the apartments are complete.
It is at 116 Sherlock Street, and was formerly The White Swan.
At the corner of Sherlock Street, the White Swan, early 19th century, completely re-cast by J.B. Surman, 1937.

For the first time in so so long, I went back to Leeds First Friday!
Saturday night Gemma and I went back to the Marriott for a drink before going on to the Hifi Club to watch stand-up comedy, which was fantastic! It has become our new Saturday night place to go.
Afterwards we stopped off for a drink in Smokestack.
Ready to go out.

It's moved venue as the Cosmopolitan Hotel has closed for refurbishment so it now kicks off in the Marriott. The venue is much better - bigger, more room, ore seating, more bar staff too.
They also have a huge mirror which was great for group shots - unfortunately, after this, the hotel deicded to put big advertising stickers on the mirror so you can't use it like that ny more. Ah well.
Was absolutely brilliant to meet up with friends I hadn't seen in so long! And make new ones too.
After the Marriott we went to Fibre then The Bridge then Smokestackc. It was an awesome night!
Dancing video. The song is 'Better when I'm Dancing' by Meghan Trainor, a proper feel-good song!

The Sheffield Beer And Cider Festival is something that Gemma always tries to attend and she had hotel bookings for that weekend, but unfortunately as with many things recently, the beer festival was cancelled. BUt we decided to have a Sheffield weekend just the same, and it was a brill time!
Saturday night was a fab night. We went back to Bungalows and Bears again (we like it in there) then found a great venue called the Green Room which we really enjoyed. From there, we went to Dempsey's nightclub in Sheffield's gay quarter and had a brilliant time, meeting people and dancing. Great music and we loved the venue, we'll definitely be heading back there!
After that we walked back to the hotel and took some pics in the libby where the lighting was good. And a couple who came out of the lifts wanted pics with us - the guy looked very much like Professor Brian Cox, ha ha! He loved my crushed velvet jacket.
A compilation of slow-motion walking clips from our weekend in Sheffield. Gemma has really outdone herself with this one - I absolutely adore it! I hope you enjoy it too!
