You can't tell how much suffering on a face that's always smiling

I've grinned my way through beatings
I've smiled my way through school
But underneath this grinning
Is the sadness of the fool
No longer know my feelings
Been fooling for too long
Borne of desperation in an effort to look strong

You Can’t Tell How Much Suffering (On a Face That’s Always Smiling) is the fourth track on Gold Mother, the third studio album by English rock band James. It was released in 1990 by Fontana Records. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Mother

"I'm afraid of loneliness swallowing me..."

Gold Mother is the fourth album by the band James, released on June 4th 1990 and provided their mainstream breakthrough. It features their first top 40 singles How Was It For You? and Come Home. The 1991 reissue featured a changed track list and included their number 2 single Sit Down. The album featured an expanded sound with Saul Davies on percussion and violin, Mark Hunter on keyboards and Andy Diagram on trumpet having been added to the band along with Dave Baynton-Power replacing the departed Gavan Whelan. The name of the album comes from the title track detailing the birth of Tim’s son mothered by the band’s manager Martine.

James

18 years ago, I saw James the band for the first time live. They are my favorite band and they have been with me for more than half of my life. This is my record collection and a rendition to them. Thank you for the soundtrack of my life.

Coloane's A-Ma Temple - Gods

Some more shots from Coloane's A-Ma Temple, some of the altars with some God's figures were people can go to pray and give some offerings

This figure is Xi Wang Mu, the Gold Mother also called Queen Mother of the West (thank's KeJia Sista).
She is charged with overseeing the Wall of Heaven. Her official Taoist title is Yaochi Jinmu (瑤池金母), or the Golden Mother of the Shining Lake.
