
4-6-0 no.Ok22-31 gently simmers in the foreground at Grodzisk Wielkopolski while working freight 11185 which had originated in Wolsztyn but after shunting would depart here as the 10.28 to Płastowo. These powerful passenger locomotives were a development of the Prussian class P8's with the initial five PKP examples built in Germany in 1923 before production switched to Poland in 1928-34 with 190 examples built in total. This Wolsztyn based engine was in regular use for charters but also kept active on the local freight diagrams as depicted here before it was stood down in 1997.
