We got an early(ish) start to the day, arriving at the Borenore Karst before the picknickers. This majestic gum tree was on the Arch Cave track. Species is a little uncertain but my best guess is Ribbon Gum.

The GrainCorp Silos at Brim were painted by Guido van Helten in January 2016. They were the first to appear in the Wimmera Mallee region of Victoria and the second set of silos to be painted in Australia.
The mural faces are anonymous, but are said to portray a multi-generational quartet of farmers, both male and female, who show the true spirit of a Victorian farmer. The Brim mural infused the town and region of the Mallee with new found energy. It offered anticipation of positive growth and prosperity for the surrounding farmers and families of the area and was the beginning of the Silo Art Trail in Victoria. According to Annette Green, the Silo Art Movement is more than a visual spectacle; it is a dynamic force of transformation and rejuvenation. In its majestic strokes and grandeur lie the seeds of renewal for many towns and communities that once teetered on the brink of obscurity. It is not just art; it is a resurrection, a new dawn that ushers in hope, economic vitality, and social resurgence. (Australian silo Art Trail).
Guido was raised in Brisbane and was a graffiti artist in his youth. He is now well known for his photo-realistic murals and we are lucky to have three silos and two water tanks in the “Trail” painted by Guido at this time.
These murals are 30 metres tall and are illuminated at night by solar power.
This was taken from across the Henty Highway, under the shades of a large tree.
