Quest 80, WNT 502Y

The Quest80 was a short-lived British motor with weird angular cab set-forward of the front axle. They never really amounted to much before production ceased. One company who ran a couple was B.R Whorton Transport form Staffordshire. They had a short-lived tipper model and this one bodied as a box van which lasted a little longer. Registered in March 1983, WNT 502Y, lasted until November 1992. The firm also had a third chassis that never received a body.

Scammell by Guy & Leyland by Scammell

1977 daycab Scammell Crusader, WWX 861S, was one of a number of 4x2 Crusader tractors built at the Guy factory at Fallings Park, Wolverhampton. Late, September 1983 registered sleeper cabbed Leyland Marathon, A142 LWU, was one of the last built by Scammell at their Tolpits Lane works at Watford. G.W Sissons of Sherburn-in-Elmet was well-known for running Crusaders, but probably less so for running Marathons. A142 LWU, was last taxed in February 1990.

GJF 533V 'Hannibul of Carthage'

E & E Transport from Fenton Industrial Estate, Stoke, had their vehicles named after legendary figures such as this B-Series ERF artic Hannibul of Carthage. There was also Ghengis Khan, Alexander the Great, Hercules of Byzantine, etc. The E & E stood for Eccleston & Eccleston, father and son. Alas, the firm is no more.
