The Clyde Auditorium, familiarly known as "The Armadillo", is a concert building in Glasgow, Scotland. The building sits on the site of the now infilled Queen's Dock on the River Clyde, adjacent to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The architect of the Armadillo (1997) is Norman Foster and the Bell's bridge (1988) was designed by Sir William Arrol & Co.
Sir William Arrol & Co. was a leading Scottish civil engineering business founded by William Arrol and based in Glasgow. It built some of the most famous bridges in the United Kingdom including the Forth Bridge (1890) and Tower Bridge (1894) in London.
The building right is the SSE Hydro, an arena opened in 2013 with a concert by Rod Stewart. It was designed by the London-based architects Foster + Partners. The SSE Hydro hosts international musical stars, global entertainment and sporting events, with an aim to attract one million visitors each year.
On 9 November 2013, the SSE Hydro was chosen to host the 20th annual MTV Europe Music Awards for November 2014.
