I spent a day at the family compound in Mojave before we set sail on the cruise to Vancouver. I had wanted to use the day to document a new site I found in an area that will soon be replaced by a solar farm, but the weather was too bad.
There was a break in the weather, so I went out to photograph the desert close to the compound. When I finished, I'd fucked up a newer pair of shoes, and the whole lower half of my pants and ass was wet and covered in mud.
This first set of photos is from a dry wash that wasn't dry.
Referring to my sister's house as the Family Compound is an inside joke.
