While coming up the wall from the deep sand flats, I was looking for nudi's where I had seen some Stearn's last week. Struck out on the Stearn's, but came across this leopard dorid instead.
Despite my hopes for continued clear water, wind stirred the ocean up this weekend and I ended up with another day of macro shooting.
Last Saturday's dives at Anacapa Islands revealed a number of nudibranch species over 3 dives. 9 of them are pictured here!

My usual ride to Anacapa Island took the week off at the end of September, so I did a little "drive and dive" to Morro Bay, CA. I made two "muck dives" under the t-shaped pier near the harbor patrol office because I had heard it was a good area for nudibranchs. Boy was I amazed... the area was beyond my expectations! I found this well-hidden leopard dorid partially buried in the mud.

I haven't seen one of these leopard dorid nudibranchs lately, so it was nice to find one.
After several weeks of shooting nudibranchs, I spent this weeks dives challenging myself. I put the snoot back into the game and combined it with the +2 diopter. Even in the surge, I ended with some decent images. This leopard dorid was huge, compared to the normal nudibranch's I shoot.
Found this ring-spotted dorid nudibranch cruising over the reef.
