Ruins of the Richardson Store, Route 66 at I-40, Exit 311, Montoya, New Mexico. This store was started by G.W. Richardson in 1908, in a wooden structure at another site in town. In 1918, he relocated the store to this red sandstone building, while the state of New Mexico improved the roadway. The roadway became part of the famous Route 66. The store closed in the late 1970s. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. In 2014 the roof collapsed.
