This stunning photo was taken in my front yard after a snowfall. The interplay of sun and shadows adds a sense of drama to the scene, but what’s fascinating are the tracks in the snow. It’s unclear whether the individual who made the tracks stumbled or was trying to avoid a predator. What do you think happened?
A relaxed polar bear sits on the ice in some fresh snow on a fresh water lake near the shores of Hudson Bay and enjoys some late day sun. The bears are waiting for sea ice on the bay to freeze so they can go offshore to hunt seals.
