Mother's Day is about expressing love, gratitude, and appreciation for the incredible contributions mothers make to their families and communities. It's a time to acknowledge their hard work, sacrifices, and unwavering support.
A Bit of History:
In the United States, Canada, Australia, and many other countries, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. This means in 2025, Mother's Day will be on Sunday, May 11th.
The modern American version of Mother's Day is credited to Anna Jarvis in the early 20th century. She campaigned for a national day to honor mothers after the death of her own mother.
The first official Mother's Day was observed in the United States on May 10, 1908, in Grafton, West Virginia, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.
