9A-BER 2 Airbus A319-112 Sundair (Fly Air 41 Airlines) PMI 17JUN24

Operated on behalf of Sundair by Fly Air 41 Airlines (Croatia). Now without titles or logo!

This used to have billboard 'Sundair' titles. It now seems to operate as Fly Air41 although they still use the Sundair flight codes SR/SDR. (sticks in my mind as 'SR' used to be the old Swissair).

EI-TLK Airbus A300B4-203 Trans Aer International (all white-no titles) MAN 21MAY00 by Ken Fielding - Air Transport Archive

EI-TLK Airbus A300B4-203 Trans Aer International (all white-no titles) MAN 21MAY00

Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 15-May-24.

Trans Aer were an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance & Insurance) operator and operated flights for so many airlines that their aircraft spent most their time painted all white (a photographers nightmare).

First flown in Sep-81 with the Airbus test registration F-GBNU, this aircraft was delivered to the Connecticut National bank and leased to Eastern Air Lines as N226EA.

Eastern Air Lines ceased operations on 18-Jan-91 and was repossessed by the lessor in Mar-91 and stored. It was due to be leased to Philippine Airlines in early 1992 but that fell through and it was leased to Sultan Air (Turkiye) as TC-JUV in Dec-92.

The aircraft was returned to GECAS as N226GE in Sep-93 and initially stored at Abu Dhabi (UAE). It was moved to Smyrna, TN, USA in Jan-94 for continued storage. It remained stored for another three years until it was re-registered EI-TLK in Mar-97 and leased to Translift Airways a few days later.

In May-97 Translift were renamed Trans Aer International Airlines. The aircraft was wet-leased to Air Afrique in Dec-98 and returned to Trans Aer in Feb-99. It was wet-leased to PIA Pakistan International between Feb / Apr-99. Then to Virgin Express Airways (Belgium) between Jun / Oct-99, and to Sri Lankan Airlines between Feb / May-00.

Trans Aer ceased operations in Oct-00 and the aircraft was returned to GECAS and was ferried to Marana, AZ, USA for storage. It was re-registered N161GE in Jun-01. The aircraft was ferried to Bristol-Filton, UK (now closed) in Mar-02 and permanently retired. It was broken up there in Mar-03.

G-CDPT 1 B767-319ER flyGlobespan.com (no titles) MAN 02JUN08

Replacing an earlier digital photo with a better version 27-Feb-22.

Seen returning from it's lease to Air India. Although the main Air India titles & tail logo have been removed, for some reason it still retains the 'Your Palace in the Sky' titles by the rear door.

This aircraft has a long history, it was delivered to ILFC International Lease Finance Corporation and leased to Air New Zealand as ZK-NCN in Apr-00. It was returned to the lessor at the end of Mar-06.

It was leased to flyGlobespan as G-CDPT in Apr-06. The aircraft was wet-leased to Air India in Nov-06 and returned to flyGlobespan in Mar-08. It was briefly wet-leased to Air India again for two weeks in Sep-08.

In Nov-08 the aircraft was wet-leased to Garuda Indonesia Airlines for a Haj Pilgrimage operation, returning to flyGlobespan in Jan-09. At the beginning of Feb-09 it was wet-leased to Air Gabon for five weeks, returning in mid Mar-09.

Shortly after returning from Gabon the aircraft was wet-leased to Air Austral (La Reunion, Indian Ocean) in Mar-09 and returned to flyGlobespan in May-09. In Oct-09 it was wet-leased to NAS National Air Services (Saudi Arabia) for a Haj Pilgrimage operation. Before the Haj lease was finished flyGlobespan ceased operations (16-Dec-09). Their AOC was withdrawn by the UK CAA. The aircraft was impounded at Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The aircraft was repossessed by ILFC in Jan-10 and ferried to Miami, FL, USA for storage. It was re-registered N381LF in Mar-10. In Jun-10 it was due for lease to a new airline, Oxygene Africa Airways. However they were unable to get started and the lease was cancelled.

In Aug-10 the aircraft was transferred to ILFC Ireland as EI-UNC and two days later it was leased to Transaero Airlines, Russia and delivered Miami / Moscow-DME. The aircraft was repainted into full Icelandair livery at Manchester UK in Sep-15 and ferried to Shannon, Ireland for lease return at the beginning of Oct-15.

It was stored at Shannon before being delivered to Icelandair as TF-ISO in mid Feb-16. It was fitted with blended winglets in May-16. Current, updated 06-Nov-21.
