Early in the morning, whilst all the revelers are still recoverying, a gray and cold New Years Day sees Amtrak train 332(01), Morning Hiawatha Service kicking up a light dusting of snow as it takes the Borealis equipment to Chicago at Oakwood Road on the CPKC (nee CP, nee Soo Line, nee Milwaukee Road) C&M subdivision. Amtrak 500 ; Ole Silver Hosepower, gets the honor today. Seeing these old soliders out on the road is a treat these days.

The Oakwood Run Bridge No. 3, built in 1984, is one of the 446 bridges in Pittsburgh, in this case connecting the Oakwood neighborhood with the neighboring brorough of Crafton over Oakwood Run (or, perhaps, Bell's Run).
Oakwood Road also sports a stretch of turn-of-the-20th-century houses, built at a time when this was a part of Chartiers Township and all of the streets were named after Presidents. This road used to be Madison Avenue, not to be confused with the more famous street by that name in New York.
This is another portion of the houses built from the 1900s-1910s along what was once Madison Avenue in what was once Chartiers Township, now the neighborhood of Oakwood in Pittsburgh.
