What a beautiful sight!

What a beautiful sight they are!
Crepuscular rays of light streaming through gaps in clouds like stairways to Heaven.

Crepuscular rays are noticeable when the contrast between light and dark is most obvious.
There's always a sunrise and a sunset and it's up to you to choose to be there for it.

Riding in my car #67

A vintage car driving along High Street Road. Just every now and then you see them on Melbourne Roads. This one was found not far from where I was picking up my car after the trip to Lambley's Nursery and Garden in September 2024.

A new day begins along the shores of Lake Michigan, as seen at the Sturgeon Bay Canal North Pierhead Light in Door County, Wisconsin. Thanks for viewing! A little bird told me to say that :)

Night falls #15

Pohara Beach, Golden Bay looking out into the darkness as the sunset fades. The nearby Port Tarakohe Marina lights up part of the view but the dark blue and stars were starting to come out. For the Through the Lens theme week 15 of Night. I am rather behind on my TTL themes.

The rocky landscape

Not far from the Horn lookout are these lovely, rocky peaks showing the extensive granite boulders of the region as well as the golden grassy flats. You can also see the extent of the dead snow gums from previous fires. (Wirbill plain to Cannon and Rocky Hill). Happy Earth Day (Apr 22)

Overarching by Greenstone Girl

Overarching

Mount Buffalo is a large flattish topped mountain that rises above the nearby valleys and plains. There are a couple of viewpoints including The Horn which overlooks the south. If you climb above the carpark there are some beautiful overarching dead snow gum trees which were silhouetted above the blue sky. The rocks in this area and the drive past the Cathedral were spectacular. The dead trees were those that had succumbed to previous bushfires.

I was so happy to stumble upon this temporary artwork in the Dunedin Botanic gardens a few years ago.

I love the way it sung with the background...
from this place, of this place...

******************************************

Work by artist Kate Fitzharris,
Situated in the Dunedin botanic gardens,
made using raw materials from within the gardens itself.

'The Commons explores the blurred lines between what we often think of as distinct spaces or perspectives: private/public, individual/collective, domestic/wild, human/nature, object/viewer. It reminds us that wild public places can be as intimate and homely as our domestic spaces, and that we have wild roots to our domestic lives. The Commons refers to places and resources not owned privately, but held in common and managed for the collective good. It also alludes to seeking out what we hold in common with each other and what we find around us, so we may have a more empathetic, connected world view.'

Sunset on Nelson #16

We have left Golden Bay and will spend a day or so in Nelson before heading back to Christchurch for the Easter break. After asserting there wouldn't be much colour in the sunset I was rewarded with this scene from Tahunanui Beach at low tide! It is such a privilege to get these views. Enjoy.
Also for the Through the Lens week 16 theme of Sunset
