“Ponta do Topo” is the easternmost location on the island of São Jorge, where the village of Topo and the emblematic lighthouse are located. As the story goes, the first men stepping on the island landed at its shores, after skirting the small islet, 400 meters off the coast, which is now known as a great diving site.

A Ponta do Topo é o local mais oriental da Ilha de São Jorge, onde está situada a Vila do Topo e o emblemático farol. Reza a história que terá sido na sua praia que desembarcaram os primeiros homens a pisar a ilha depois de contornarem o pequeno ilhéu, quatrocentos metros ao largo da costa, que atualmente é conhecido por ser um excelente local de mergulho.
