Durlston Castle
A Victorian faux castle located in the grounds of Durlston Country Park, Swanage
A 40 minute drive from home and another 40 minute walk to this old disused Purbeck quarry in the early hours, I'd visited the location during the day to find a composition and then just hoped that sky would stay clear for my return. Some more popular locations can often have other photographers milling around in the dark with head torches shining in all directions don't get me wrong I know that I'm also one of those people but it's always nice to get the place to yourself and wonder at the night sky or early morning sky for that matter.
I got soaked taking this image as the waves hit the cliffs the wind carried the sea spray over on to the land.
On my way to another location in the blue hour I stopped to take this photo a spot I had been to before, gun and run with care when standing on the cliffs edge.

The sky on this morning went from red to a Marmalade orange just before sunrise this was due to Sahara dust high in the atmosphere.
Waiting for the sun to rise behind Anvil light house clouds started to roll in.
