In 1993, Australian National purchased five second-hand, broad gauge T class locos from Victoria (plus one for spares). CK5/CK4/CK3 are in command of the daily Penrice Quarry to Osborne stone train on 25 April 1999 at Kalbeeba near Gawler. Today all three locomotives - now in their 46th year - remain active at Whyalla on duties associated with iron ore haulage and steelmaking.
