Just watched a Little Wicket video on the Hornby Royal Train, demonstrating a set R.1057 The Royal Train from the early 2000s (2004 according to HCG - just for 1 year), which included an upgraded version of this with silver door handles, picked out coloured suspension springs, vertical courtesy blinds throughout, and a different running number, and silver window-frames for the main windows in the brake end. 2921 is described as the Sleeper, Kitchen and Brake Coach by Little Wicket - I'm chasing that down now... So... the description on HCG for the set says it includes the 1969 built Royal Household Couchette which is this type - I must read-up more! Ok, just found a coach pack R.4197 with another variant - 2920 as my 2905, but with the upgrades of 2921, so vertical blinds throughout, B4 bogies with painted coil springs, and picked-out handles... so interesting that it retained the 2920 number---- so what was going on with the prototype during this time??! Ooooh, and just noticed the lining on that one is doubled and extends around the end of the coach a little - and has an orange cant-rail stripe extending round the ends as far as the connecting corridor and has the modern overhead flash warnings on the ends! Quite an upgrade! NB that whilest the Mk3s of the Royal Train by Hornby do have crests, the Mk2 doesn't - as far as I have seen so far anyway! Is this authentic I'm wondering?

Carroll Shelby and Vaughn Gittin Jr. might not seem to have much in common at first blush, but the way their fates became intertwined with the Ford Motor Company is quite similar. Ford leaned on Shelby’s racing experience and engineering acumen to help it beat Ferrari at LeMans and to continue building Ford’s performance reputation. Decades later, as Gittin started winning drift competitions in Mustangs, Ford is now leaning on his equivalent aptitude for technical development.
Gittin Jr. helped Ford engineer the Drift Brake first offered on the S650 Mustang for 2024, part of a budding relationship between the automaker and Gitten’s RTR (Ready to Rock) operation that has only deepened in recent years. (His off-road racing efforts have also spawned a Bronco RTR variant.) So, just as Shelby helped establish Ford’s performance and competition bona fides, Gittin is helping to serve as a bridge connecting Ford with a youth-centric, social-media influenced, motorsports-curious culture. Behold the latest fruit of their collaborative efforts: the 2026 Ford Mustang RTR.
The Mustang RTR, which will be built on the main production line in Flat Rock, Michigan, is different. It’s a full-fledged, factory-backed Ford Mustang codeveloped by Ford and RTR and based on an EcoBoost-powered model (fastback only), marking only the second time in history Ford has done this type of Mustang collaboration (you guessed it: Shelby was the other). The RTR’s revisions are aimed primarily at optimizing the Mustang for drifting, and we’re promised that said revisions will make it “the most thrilling, fun-to-drive turbocharged Mustang ever, elevating entry-level sports car performance for a new generation of thrill-seekers.”

As part of the Road to Climate Resilience (RTR) project, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) organized a practical demonstration on compost production in Taltoot – Salamieh, with the participation of 50 farmers from three villages. This activity focused on promoting the principles of regenerative agriculture, particularly the use of compost as a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizers.The primary goals of this intervention were to minimize the damage caused by chemical usage in agriculture by promoting reliance on organic materials, improve the quality of agricultural products and reduce harmful substances in food, enable the management and recycling of plant waste and olive mill by-products, and contribute to reducing diseases affecting olive trees.Through this practical session, AKF aimed to encourage farmers to adopt organic fertilizers to enhance crop quality, protect plants from disease-inducing waste, and contribute to a more sustainable agricultural ecosystem.This activity is part of the Road to Resilience (R2R) project, which focuses on improving agricultural and livestock productivity by offering sustainable inputs and technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of farmers and farming communities. The initiative is funded and implemented by AKF, and contributes to advancing regenerative agriculture, aligned with the broader goals of agriculture, food security, and climate resilience.

On 20 May 2025, a follow-up was conducted on the micro-forest planted in 2023 in Salamieh under the Road to Climate Resilience (RTR) project, funded and implemented by AKF. The micro-forest consists of approximately 3,000 native plants cultivated on one dunum of land. At its establishment, the micro-forest was equipped with solar energy, a modern irrigation system, and organic fertilizer to support growth and sustainability. This initiative contributes to combating climate change by improving air quality, enhancing biodiversity, and strengthening local climate resilience. This activity is part of the broader Climate Change Initiative (CLI), which provides technical support and mentorship to farmers, promotes regenerative farming practices, and co-creates interventions for climate mitigation and adaptation. These interventions include renewable energy, biodiversity promotion, sustainable water management, forest regeneration, solar irrigation linked to livestock, drip irrigation systems for crops, water reuse, and rainwater harvesting to maximize efficiency.
