Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis almost at the corner of the Rue de Metz and Rue de l'Échiquier in the 10ème arrondissement of Paris.

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis
The Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis is a street in the 10ème arrondissement of Paris. It crosses the arrondissement from north to south, linking the Porte Saint-Denis to the Métro station of La Chapelle and passing the Gare du Nord.
The rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis owes its name to the fact that it is an extension of the rue Saint-Denis to the faubourg or area outside Paris's walls (as marked today by the Porte Saint-Denis). It also marked the eastern boundary of the enclos (later prison) Saint-Lazare.
Historically, this street was an extremely upper-class area, occupied by jewellers and textile merchants, since it was part of the king's processional route to the Basilica of Saint Denis. After the French Revolution the street briefly bore the name rue du Faubourg Franciade in 1793 (with the portion between rue Saint-Laurent and place de la Chapelle being renamed rue du faubourg Saint-Lazare and rue du faubourg de Gloire).
Length: 1672 meters

Paris is proud! Boulevard de Magenta corner Rue du 8 Mai 1945 and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis.

Boulevard de Magenta
The boulevard de Magenta is located in the IX and X arrondissements of Paris, in France.
It begins at place de la République and 1, rue Beaurepaire, and ends at 1, boulevard de Rochechouart and 53, boulevard de la Chapelle.
It is named after the battle of Magenta, a battle fought on 4 June 1859 near Magenta in Italy. It was a victory by the Piedmontais of the kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia and by the French armée d'Italie under general Mac-Mahon and Napoléon III over the Austrians under Guylay.
The creation of the boulevard de Magenta was part of the Hausmannian transformation of Paris. It was completed in 1855 between rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin and the boulevard de Rochechouart (the boulevard here in fact follows the route of the old rue du Nord which formed a part of an 1827 subdivision) and in 1859 between place de la République and rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin.
Three métro stations: République, Jacques Bonsergent, Barbès-Rochechouart. And one RER station of line E named after this boulevard.
Monuments:
n° 3 : Here lived Jacques Bonsergent, the first Parisian to be shot by the Nazis during the German occupation of France, on 23 December 1940.
n° 24 : Site of the restaurant Véry, where the anarchist Ravachol was arrested on 30 March 1892. In revenge, the anarchists exploded a bomb here on the morning of 25 April that year.
n° 68 : Église Saint-Laurent, built between 1863 and 1867.
n° 85 bis : Marché Saint-Quentin installed here in 1866.

You know what's weird? The guy on the crosswalk with the brown bag is in three pictures I took during that taxi ride. We must have been moving pretty slowly, or driving in circles or something.

It's also another example of me thinking about the passage of time. I took this picture 15 years ago, in the summer of 2008, and obviously posted it today in 2023. Every person in this picture (assuming they're all still alive) is 15 years older today than they were when I took this picture.

Boulevard Saint-Denis | Porte Saint-Denis 25/02/2023 10h48
Once upon a time this was the border of the city of Paris with the gate to the city in the direction of Saint-Denis.

Porte Saint-Denis
The Porte Saint-Denis is a Parisian monument located in the 10th arrondissement, at the site of one of the gates of the Wall of Charles V, one of the now-destroyed fortifications of Paris. It is located at the crossing of the Rue Saint-Denis, the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, the Boulevard de Bonne-Nouvelle and the Boulevard Saint-Denis.
The Porte Saint-Denis was designed by architect François Blondel and the sculptor Michel Anguier at the order of Louis XIV in honor of his victories on the Rhine and in Franche-Comté. Built in 1672, it replaced a medieval gate in the city walls built by Charles V. It was restored in 1988.
