Attempt number two to see this exhibit after seeing the Tacoma Glass Museum helping her make some of the pieces for the exhibit. Today was a success!

This was the most exciting and eventually the most disappointing portion of the exhibit. It tells of a big story behind the exhibit, so I expected to turn a corner and see several pieces, certainly more than two, not necessarily more than six, that tell this story visually. This did not happen for me. I felt that the pieces included just told one tiny fractional (but very evocative) snapshot of the greater story and would love to see more. Granted those pieces were vast and complex, so hopefully Tariqa has plans to build up more pieces in the future to complete the visual story telling.
Also unfortunately, I wasn't the only person who seemed to expect a bigger exhibit. As I spent my time in the exhibit, identifying all the glass pieces I got to see being made, many people would rush in, have a reaction to the pink bubbly spaceship, look around in confusion for another door and rush out. The most time spent seemed to be to take pictures of kids under the spotlight at the beginning (DSC04906).
