A few weekends ago, I caught an ad on Kijiji about someone clearing out some things, including two S-Style statues.

Now, I only vaguely remember these being solicited, and generally passing on them for being effectively smaller Pop Up Parade statues, albeit with a lower price. Not sure why they came up with this line but I guess somewhere there was a demand for smaller fixed poses.

Well, turns out that this line is also one of the places you can get affordable merch for a little game titled Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, a spinoff of the main series released on Nintendo Switch. I can't exactly say this game was particularly good, but the main series with its Hack n' Slash action combined with some gratuitous nudity, is generally quite popular, and probably the best of the genre, though Valkyrie Drive isn't terrible.

Popular enough that Yumi and Ikaruga are selling for like double to triple their MSRP of $35 CAD.

I like how the bases interlock, and how there's a metal stud for the statue to plug into.

The actual statues themselves are tiny, effectively being Figma sized. The heads come separate and in the instance of Yumi one of of her hands can be replaced with one from a Tomytec model set to hold a waterun. I suspect the purpose of these statues is to effective market recognizable heads you can put onto compatible model kits for some interesting creations. This also allows for the head to be twisted and give some slight posing options.

The actual statues themselves are... alright. I mean, Yumi turned out better than Ikaruga, mainly because her head turned out better. Both bodies are equally buxom, but both bodies also feature an identical level of average quality and production values. You can see the rough finishes and average paint work though to be fair the hair certainly turned out better on both than I would have though. Yumi's bow, however, is definitely much better looking than the flowers in Ikaruga's hair.

I guess one final thing - not sure what happened, but the final pieces are much paler than production photos would suggest.

A few weekends ago, I caught an ad on Kijiji about someone clearing out some things, including two S-Style statues.
