As ruínas de uma casa tradicional em pedra ao longo do trilho PR13 – Na Senda do Paivô, entre Covelo de Paivó e a aldeia de Drave, são testemunhos da ocupação rural da Serra da Freita, associadas à antiga atividade agrícola e pastoril da região. Este percurso, que integra a rede de percursos pedestres das Aldeias de Montanha, estende-se por cerca de 4,5 km, acompanhando o vale do rio Paivô e ligando diversas povoações serranas. As construções, erguidas com granito e xisto, sem argamassa, refletem a arquitetura vernacular local. O abandono progressivo das aldeias, especialmente a partir do século XX, resultou na desertificação humana e no declínio destas estruturas, levando à criação do programa Aldeias Mágicas para a revitalização dos núcleos históricos. O trilho conduz os caminhantes até Drave, uma aldeia atualmente desabitada e acessível apenas a pé, proporcionando uma imersão nas paisagens e na história da região.
The ruins of a traditional stone house along the PR13 trail – On the Senda do Paivô, between Covelo de Paivó and the village of Drave, are testimonies of the rural occupation of the Serra da Freita, associated with the region's ancient agricultural and pastoral activity. This route, which is part of the network of hiking trails of the Mountain Villages, extends for about 4.5 km, following the valley of the Paivô River and connecting several mountain villages. The buildings, erected with granite and shale, without mortar, reflect the local vernacular architecture. The gradual abandonment of the villages, especially from the 20th century onwards, resulted in human desertification and the decline of these structures, leading to the creation of the Aldeias Mágicas (Magic Villages) program for the revitalization of the historic centers. The trail leads hikers to Drave, a village currently uninhabited and accessible only on foot, providing an immersion in the landscapes and history of the region.
